New Page and New Links

I can hardly wait for the new school website to go live!  Our blog will need to change a fair bit when the new school website comes along but that's OK.  Change is a good thing.

For now, I'll happily keep implementing the changes and improvements to our blog that Class 9A suggests.

Fionn suggested a page called "Quote of the Day".  Please see a link to it under the title "Pages" on the right.

Evan suggested we add two links on the "Activities" page.  Well, actually, he told us what his favourite two websites were and asked if we could please put a link to Wikipedia on the blog.  You may have noticed some of the links on our Activities page are more recreational than educational.  Or rather they educate the reader about the interests of the lads in Class 9A!  ;-)  Evan's second website is "Zelda Universe".  Can you guess one of Evan's interests knowing his two favourite websites?

Jude suggested a profile picture that has the whole class on it.  I'm working on it but forgot to take the photos home with me.  Forgetful me will have to edit the profile picture another day, Jude.  I'll do it one day soon.

John Showed Us How

Have you noticed our fish tanks?

We have a fish tank with six fish in our class room.  We'll post a photo shortly.

We also have two fish tanks on our blog - one at the top and one at the bottom.  We already knew that the blog fish like to follow the mouse cursor wherever you put it in their tank.  This morning John showed us how to feed the fish on the blog.  If you left click the mouse it leaves a dot of food for the fish and they rush over to eat it.  Thanks, John.

Fionndiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark

 

2 years later it was Fionndiana Jones birthday.  He was 38 and John was pretendio set the party.  But he was really bombing the house so Fionn said, "Sam run!  He's setting up guest dummies with bombs inside.  Sam said, "Let's go."  We're in the car.  Fionn said, "Could I get a beer at Spar?"  Sam said, "Sure."  Then he got one and he was crazy.  Then they found the lost ark and put it in the museum.  The End

 

Fionndiana Jones:  Evan's Return

 

Fionn and Sam were in the car still coming back but we saw a dead end with a bridge.  Sam said, "I see a flame thrower." 

"Evan!" said Fionn.

Sam said, "Who's Evan?"

Fionn said, "It's a long story."

Sam said, "O.M.G. Evan shot the bridge.  I guess we gotta jump tuit."  Fionndiana jum and Sam did and it was too late.  Evan shot Fionndiana Jones with a flamethrower.  It was his funeral.  Sam said, "I loved you even though I didn't let you hug me."  The End

John's Inventions

John is so good at coming up with really neat inventions.  On Tuesday the 14th of September he designed two great games:

 

Arctic Defense is a game in which the player fights enemies underground and underwater.  You can play it in two modes - 2D or 3D.

 

Colour Change Racers is a game in which the player can change the colour of the car, choose from a selection of 10 vehicles, create your own vehicle and even choose one of three race tracks.

Sit-Ups and Compliments

Wendy had to do 156!!! sit-ups today because the lads in 9A got that many maths game questions right.  Way to go Class 9A.  Keep making your teacher work hard - at sit-ups, that is.  Apart from the sit-ups she should be allowed to doss all day, don't you think?

 

Today's compliments included, but were not limited to:

Evan - so much good work as our IT expert and then shared his responsibility when other lads showed their skills as well

John - twice as much writing as usual!!!!  To top it off, he played together with great teamwork during Golden Time.  He and Jude were using words like, "Can you please hand me the..." 

Jude - raising his hand to help edit Wendy's writing, calling out so many victory dances and yes, great teamwork with John while at the Lego table.

Jack - drew, coloured and labelled a great picture for our blog AND did two pages of Maths

Fionn - brought 30¢ for the school siopa and told his friends he wanted to play hurling tomorrow

Sam - bravely going upstairs for both Maths and English, two long classes

We read two stories by Sam McBratney in class the other day - "I'm Sorry" and "Guess How Much I Love You."

Which is a lead up to... I forgot the writing books at school on Friday.  I won't be able to publish any writing this weekend.  We'll all just have to wait till Monday.  "I'm sorry."
